SHEERGOLD

Yacht Charter

A classic old-world explorer with a 1987 Amels hull, Jon Bannenberg interiors and a 4,300-nautical-mile range, SHEERGOLD has spent most of her life as a private yacht. She enters the charter market for the first time in 2025, following a full refit, with an itinerary that runs from Greenland and the Northwest Passage to the Sea of Cortez and French Polynesia.

ABOUT SHEEERGOLD

SHEERGOLD's original Jon Bannenberg interiors have been retained through the 2025 refit. Herringbone pear wood panelling, vintage African accents, Chesterfield leather sofas and gleaming brass fittings create an atmosphere that feels lived-in rather than designed. On deck, wide teak surfaces run the length of her distinctive canoe stern. Both aft decks offer al fresco dining. A forward sun deck with sun pads and observation seating commands unobstructed views in every direction.

She accommodates 10 guests across four cabins: a full-beam master suite on the main deck, one double cabin and two twin cabins. Starlink Wi-Fi, an outdoor cinema, a movies library and a music library are on board throughout.

Despite the warmth of her interiors, SHEERGOLD is built for itineraries that go well beyond the standard charter circuit. Heated decks for Greenland in spring. The Northwest Passage in summer. Alaska and British Columbia in autumn. Pelorus designs the route around the group, whether that means following the full arc from the Arctic to the Pacific or taking a single section of it. For families or close groups of friends who want a charter that genuinely goes somewhere most yachts cannot, SHEERGOLD and her 4,300-nautical-mile range are already set up for it.

The four-cabin layout keeps the group tight. Ten guests, eight crew, and enough deck space to spread across without losing the sense that everyone is on the same trip. In warmer waters the toy collection changes the pace entirely: e-foils, two Seabobs, a Williams Diesel Jet 565 tender, a Waverunner and a modular floating platform for a beach club setup. Days in the Caribbean or the Mediterranean are as well equipped as any on the northern route. Eight crew, several drawn from sister yacht SHERAKHAN read the pace of the group and adjust without being asked.

Why we love it

It is the range. Most classic yachts of this era sit in the Mediterranean all summer and the Caribbean all winter. SHEERGOLD goes to Greenland. She does the Northwest Passage. She moves between Alaska and the Sea of Cortez. That 4,300-nautical-mile range on a displacement hull, combined with heated decks and at-anchor stabilisers, means the itinerary is not constrained by what the yacht can handle. Almost nothing on the charter market at this size and price point covers this much ground.

The Jon Bannenberg interiors are what make it worth arriving.
