Most creative trip planned

Most creative trip planned: A yacht charter in Juneau, Alaska. The family had the most incredible time, as each person on board, from the ages of 7 to 80, was taken into consideration during the planning phase. It was a perfect showcase for how powerful a charter can be as a family vacation, as if the itinerary is well thought through, then everyone on board can experience the location exactly as they want to. The family got to enjoy everything from scenic helicopter rides, dog sledging, ice kayaking, and whale watching, to science lectures, the cuisine of local cultures, and a champagne afternoon tea, cosy in the aft salon, as the yacht slipped quietly past the incredible Alaskan landscape.

Number one unforgettable travel experience?

Experiencing sunset from a boat in the middle of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, completely devoid of any light or noise pollution. We were the only boat for miles around and were treated to the most incredible lights and colours as the burning sun dipped low in the sky, all eyes peeled to spot the mythic green flash. The moment the sun set it was like a cosmic light switch had been turned off, never have I experienced such intense darkness, and then our eyes adjusted and suddenly millions of stars exploded in the night sky.

Top of your travel bucket list?

Has to be a trip onboard CAPTAIN ARCTIC when she launches in 2026; being able to explore the Arctic landscape from such an incredible yacht would be a dream. More short term, it’s hard to beat mooring up in a quaint Greek port and relaxing in a local waterfront taverna, eating warm pitta bread and taramasalata.

Who is your ultimate travel partner?

It’s cheesy but it has to be my husband, and bonus points if he brings our dog. And from a practical point of view, between my background in the UK and Monaco and him being half German and half American, there aren’t many places we can’t get visas for!
