Monaco yacht show 2025

Top Trends

This year’s Monaco Yacht Show is set to be the most sustainable, innovative and eco-focused show to date. Nearly half of the ~120 superyachts expected will be world premieres, a record for the event, highlighting the industry’s appetite for innovation and fresh design. Port Hercule will once again become the epicentre of design, technology and purposeful travel, with the new Blue Wake Awards spotlighting credible sustainability.

Sustainability Driving Innovation

This year’s show will spotlight meaningful advances in sustainable design. Sanlorenzo is introducing the first fuel-cell yacht powered by green methanol, while BREAKTHROUGH (118.8M) makes its mark as the world’s first hydrogen fuel-cell superyacht. She has seven decks with a cinema, basketball court, helipad, hospital and hot tubs, all powered by a revolutionary hydrogen system. This is the yacht everyone will want to see at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025.

As our Director of Yachting, Gayle Patterson, explains:
‘Sustainability isn’t just about discussions, it’s about credible innovation that allows guests to explore responsibly.’

The Rise of the Explorer Yacht

Technology is enabling more sensitive ways to explore marine environments. U-Boat Worx’s electric submersibles make silent, low-impact dives possible, while Anchor Guardian helps prevent anchors from damaging fragile seabeds.

New launches reflect this focus. Heesen’s 55M SOLEMATES is designed for long-range, off-grid cruising, combining endurance with comfort and thoughtful innovation. As our broker Charlie Comport notes,

‘SOLEMATES allows guests to explore further while enjoying the full range of onboard experiences. With wellness areas, a beach club, Starlink for uninterrupted access to the wider world and innovative design, she proves that adventure and luxury can go hand in hand. Expedition yachting is no longer a niche; it’s becoming central to how clients want to charter.’

Destinations Shaping Design

Design continues to be influenced by where clients want to go, from polar waters to remote tropics and wild archipelagos. At this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, explorer yachts such as KING BENJI (47M) and AFTER YOU (55M) show how wellness and adventure are shaping new builds with gyms, spas, diving facilities and helipads enabling seamless off-grid experiences.

This reflects a trend we’ve seen on recent and upcoming charters to destinations like Antarctica aboard CAPTAIN ARCTIC (70M), the world’s first close-to-net-zero-carbon-emission luxury yacht, as well as the Seychelles and Indonesia, where low-impact travel and conservation are central, a focus also supported through the Pelorus Foundation. At MYS 2025, it’s clear these themes of off-grid exploration, wellness and environmental responsibility continue to shape yachts and experiences today.

Micro trends to watch

  • AI & Smart Yachts – More yachts are integrating AI-driven systems for navigation efficiency, predictive maintenance, and personalised guest services (from climate control to itinerary suggestions).
  • Wellness-First Design – Beyond spas and gyms, yachts are incorporating circadian lighting, biohacking tech, meditation zones, and even partnerships with longevity clinics to meet HNWIs’ evolving wellness demands.
  • Sustainable Materials – Designers are experimenting with recycled composites, FSC-certified woods, plant-based leathers, and low-impact interiors to prove that luxury and responsibility can co-exist.
  • Underwater Luxury – Submersibles are moving beyond exploration into hospitality, concepts now include underwater lounges, dining pods, and private sub experiences.
  • Connectivity & Remote Work - With Starlink and next-gen satellite tech, yachts are becoming reliable remote offices, appealing to UHNWI clients blending business and travel.
  • Sustainable Tenders - Eco-tenders, electric or hydrogen-powered tenders, are becoming status symbols in their own right, signalling an owner’s commitment to sustainability.

From groundbreaking propulsion to designs built for exploration, Monaco Yacht Show 2025 is proving that the future of yachting is purposeful, sustainable and adventurous.

If you’re attending and would like to discuss how Pelorus is translating these innovations into meaningful journeys or to explore opportunities to collaborate, our team would love to connect at the show.
