Exploring the Amazon by yacht means you will get to experience the magnificent ecosystem of this rainforest from its very epicenter.

When to go

December - April

Your Amazonian experience starts in the Tapajós National Forest, commonly called the Caribbean of the Amazon. Once settled on board, take a tender to shore where you will trek through the verdant jungle towards Vovó, a tree that is believed to be 1,100 years old and the largest in the Amazon. Accompanied by a local naturalist, you will explore the flooded forest while you listen to the cacophony of sounds that surround you.

Head out in kayaks towards Alter do Chao village, exploring what the islands here have to offer. Spend the day with the locals where you will get the opportunity to visit a unique workshop for authentic Native American handicrafts. Later in the afternoon take a paddleboard down the Tapajós to a secluded beach for an al fresco dinner prepared by your yacht’s crew.

Carry along the Amazon towards Manaus where the rivers span reaches a vast four-kilometers and splits into narrow tributaries. Observe the flanking wilderness up close as you cruise with your onboard guide. Venture to shore where you will meet a team of ex-Army officers who will equip you with essential survival skills for a day in the jungle. With your Pelorus guide, follow a trail through the rainforest and put your new skills into practice, identifying edible foods, building a fire, and spearfishing. Spend the afternoon building a shelter with the option to stay overnight in purpose-built hammocks.

Cultural Immersion

For those seeking adrenaline, head out jet skiing through the incredible labyrinth of islands of the Anavilhanas archipelago. Later, meet Tumbira villagers for a truly memorable experience. Learn how the community transitioned from illegal loggers into one that now preserves the forest, it’s an incredible lesson about what can be achieved through community effort.

Tender or canoe with tribesmen up the Ariau channel to learn to fish for piranhas, keeping an eye out for various birds and the rare Uakari monkeys along the way. As the evening draws in, spot alligators resting by the riverbanks as you head back to your yacht.

Natural Wonders & Conservation

Venture to Presidente Figueiredo to explore the myriad of Amazonian caves and waterfalls. Here, you can take a revitalizing shower under one of the falls or cool off in the natural pools in Asaframa, Santuario or Maroaga. In the afternoon, hike further inland along the trail of Macaws and discover the caves and rock formations in Cachoeira de Iracema.

Volunteer with local conservationists and join them in their efforts to protect, feed and monitor the native pink river dolphins. Afterwards, a seaplane will land alongside your yacht to take you for a final panoramic flight over the region. From above, you will pass over the Anavilhanas archipelago and the city of Manaus to truly feel the magnitude of the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest.
