Serina graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a degree in Literary and Cultural Studies. It was these three years living abroad and exploring the Netherlands that sparked her love for travel. Following university, Serina wrote for various publications focused on sustainability and luxury travel before joining Pelorus where she gets to enjoy writing about these two passions on a daily basis.

When she’s not writing, you can find her out and about exploring the surrounding countryside or with her head in a book.

Number one unforgettable travel experience?

My grandfather had a house on a little island in the Bahamas and every time it started to get cold in the UK he’d fly off there for about 6 months. I visited him one year and it was the most magical place: the beaches were so white, the sea was perfectly clear and the locals were so lovely!

Top of your travel bucket list? 

Working in travel means my bucket list is constantly growing, but at the moment it’s Asia. Probably at the top of that is Japan, and I’d try to time my trip to coincide with cherry blossom season. The history is just so rich and the culture is completely unlike anything over here. And then there’s the food!

Who is your ultimate travel partner?

My mum! We’ve done a few weekends away together, most recently to Geneva, and she’s such great company.
