Pelorus in the Press

BOAT International

BOAT Briefing: In this week’s podcast episode, BOAT International talk all things Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge with Pelorus co-founder Jimmy Carroll who recently completed the race with team Latitude-35.

Feb 2021

Currently residing across the pond in Costa Rican paradise, Jimmy revisits the most extraordinary moments of the Atlantic crossing with Caroline White, deputy editor of BOAT International, for their superyacht podcast, BOAT Briefing. Including his preparation, the ins and outs of the boat itself and the importance of raising funds for the Pelorus Foundation; our stand-alone registered charity aiming to protect, preserve and promote at risk wildlife and environments by driving our funds into both marine and land based programmes.

With its own dedicated team, the Pelorus Foundation delivers far more than the traditional travel company. “Everywhere we go we want to have a positive impact, not by just taking people there but by having this as an integral part of our DNA delivering on these projects.” – Jimmy Carroll

“Hell of a story!” Jimmy recounts the team’s famed encounter with a marlin, resulting in an “almighty bang” which appeared to be “10 inches of marlin bill coming through the hull, through the mattress, an inch from my thigh”.

The episode is an exhilarating account where Jimmy goes into extreme detail, certainly worth a listen.
